Something Different - Managing the Enterprise
Specification
To provide a two day event for Team Leaders looking at leadership styles, improving motivation and creative problem solving.
Background
Cutbacks and changes in the workplace had affected staff morale and most
of the team leaders had been on similar events before, so this needed to
be different if it was to be engaging and effective.
The Solution
An event based on the TV Series “Star Trek” with materials and exercises linked to the characters and their mission.

| Module 1 | Make it so! The first event was concerned with developing positive team dynamics including the leader’s role in stimulating and managing individual performance. Using profiles for the characters in the StarTrek series and examples of Jean-Luc Picard’s approach as Captain of the Starship Enterprise participants explored motivation and leadership styles |
| Module 2 | To boldly go... The second event was about going to places you have never been before and considered a range of techniques to improve creative thinking. First hand experience of the techniques resulted in pragmatic ideas for implementing this approach in the workplace. Again scenarios involving the crew of the Starship Enterprise were used to stimulate creativity before addressing the work related issues. |
